It's absolutely amazing what you can find over at youTube, if you've ever been interested in Eastern Philosophy you can find one of the cornerstones it is built on in the video below.

Tao Te Ching or "The Book of The Way" was written by a Confucian philosopher who was supposedly fed up with the corruptness of the Confucian system as it was absorbed into politics.

Legend has it that as he was about to pass beyond the Great Wall of China, one of the guards recognized him and begged Lao Tzu to pass his teachings on. Lao Tzu told the guard to bring him paper and pen, then sat cross legged on the ground for three days while he wrote the 81 poems that comprise the Tao Te Ching. Then, so the story goes, he passed beyond the Great Wall into the wilderness and was never seen again.

This book endures because of the simplicity and elegance of it's truths. If we think of truth as water, almost every major religion puts it in some bottle and adds their packaging and prejuidice to the mix before passing it on to their adherents. In fact, many people cannot ingest truth without these attached trappings.

Taoists, people who follow the teachings of the Tao Te Ching, on the other hand, prefer to drop these additives. We like our truth simple and pure. We do not need your bottled truth, we drink ours straight from the springs on the mountain. Perhaps though, it would be better, if instead of blabbing about Lao Tzu, i just passed passed some of his truths on to you.

Can you coax your mind from its wandering
and keep to the original oneness?
Can you let your body become
supple as a newborn child's?
Can you cleanse your inner vision
until you see nothing but the light?
Can you love people and lead them
without imposing your will?
Can you deal with the most vital matters
by letting events take their course?
Can you step back from you own mind
and thus understand all things?

Giving birth and nourishing,
having without possessing,
acting with no expectations,
leading and not trying to control:
this is the supreme virtue.
Lao Tzu

Obviously I have not updated this blog in quite some time. There is a reason for that, I have been consumed with learning more about SEO. Let's fact it, unless you can get your site up into the top three spots for your targeted keyword, your website is really nothing more than a fancy digital brochure.

Don't get me wrong, it still boosts your credibility to have a site, but keep in mind that ANYONE can build a site now, regardless of whether or not you know anything about web design or not. So if you are going to build your own site or if you already have, for goodness sakes check out the video below and keep these basics in mind. And when you get serious about actually making money off your site by having it rank well, contact me at my main site www.charleston-seo.net.

Also I have set up a schedule for regular blogging now so be sure to check back in soon.
